oh christmas tree....

I love the holidays and decorate the house for all of them. But Christmas is my favorite and thought I would share our Christmas tree.....here is a view from the dinning room. Under the tree,I wrap the gifts with leftover paper bags. It saves money and looks great. I then add photos tags.It helps the little one pass out presents

I always buy wrapping paper and ribbon after Christmas at 75% off for the coming year.

Each family gets a ornament every year that represent them.I got this one for my husband this year ,he has been wanting to do a pig roast this spring.Te he!

My favorite ornaments are the ones the kids have made. My daughter made this one in kindergarten, she is now 23.

This ornament was made by my boy in second grade. He is now 19... oh how I miss them being that little.

This tree has a little bit of all of us in it....Plaid ribbon, rustic ornaments for my husband and pretty flowers and grapes for me.

framed memories

Here is 2 inexpensive project I worked on over the week. It started with some frames I paid .25 at a garage sale.I loved the carving in the frames but hated the color. To boring for me.So I spray painted both of them. One red to put in my son's room with the picture of him and his beautiful girlfriend, that he wanted framed.

I like how the red pops out with all the other memorabilia on the wall and my son loves it. I don't think it because of all the TLC I put into this project.OH NO!I think it's only because he can now stare at his girlfriend all the time. The other frame is going in the living room. So I spray painted it white, then stamped on a piece of card stock, added the dried roses saved from Mother's day that my sweet son gave me.Then finished it off with a ribbon.

It's always special to me when I can frame a few memories.

wall to wall photos

Photos in our hallway upstairs

Fireplace mantel is filled with new and very old photos

The dinning room displays many photos too.

I have always had a love for photography, and through the years have taken hundreds of family photos, which some are proudly displayed through out our house. I've recently came upon this book"Living with what you love" and am very curious to see the inside of it. I might have to make a trip to Barnes and Noble really soon, but until then the Internet will have to be my source of of all these beautiful rooms so artfully arranged with picture frames. pure eye candy to me.

All is right at the Hudson house. At least for now.

spring cleaning!

It starts with exchanging all the Christmas photos. I think 3 months is long enough. But I do have a good excuse. 2 surgery's in January is a pretty good reason, don't you think?
