Chalkboard paint

There have been a lot of great projects on pinterest using chalkboard paint. So it was like a light bulb came over my head.(no pun intended!)For my next DIY project.  I've had this metal lampshade I bought at a garage sale for awhile now, that only cost me .50. So why not paint it with chalkboard paint.....Hey! that's a great idea!!!!

framed memories

Here is 2 inexpensive project I worked on over the week. It started with some frames I paid .25 at a garage sale.I loved the carving in the frames but hated the color. To boring for me.So I spray painted both of them. One red to put in my son's room with the picture of him and his beautiful girlfriend, that he wanted framed.

I like how the red pops out with all the other memorabilia on the wall and my son loves it. I don't think it because of all the TLC I put into this project.OH NO!I think it's only because he can now stare at his girlfriend all the time. The other frame is going in the living room. So I spray painted it white, then stamped on a piece of card stock, added the dried roses saved from Mother's day that my sweet son gave me.Then finished it off with a ribbon.

It's always special to me when I can frame a few memories.

DIY project

Well all my project outside have been put on hold with all this stormy weather.Ugh! So I decided to do a little project for the inside. I found this cute little burlap bag with plants inside on sale for a 1.00 regularly 9.95.I picked up 5. I love a good deal......When I got home I took out the plant got out my white paint and stenciled on the design with chipboard inside the bag so that the paint would not go through. Then stuffed and sewed up the end.Ta DA! Less then hours work I have one cute little throw pillow for very little money.
